TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] – 2016
A Common Entrance Test, designated as Engineering Common Entrance Test
for Diploma Holders & B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree Holders{ TSECET [FDH &
B.Sc.(Mathematics)] – 2016} of Telangana State will be conducted by JNTUH
for lateral entry in to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm. courses offered for the academic
year 2016-17 in the State of Telangana. Eligible candidates who wish to apply for
TSECET–2016 may submit their applications through ONLINE mode ONLY from
09-03-2016 to 12-04-2016 (without late fee). Detailed information regarding Syllabi, List of courses, Procedure for Online Application with / without late fee etc., is
given in the “Instruction Booklet” displayed in the website www.tsecet.in
Date and Time of the Test and Registration Fee: 12-05- 2016 (Thursday) & Timings: 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.
Registration fee: Rs. 500/- (forSC/ST candidates Rs. 300/-.)
The Registration fee may be paid at TS Online / AP Online / Mee Seva / e-Seva
centers in Telangana State or A.P / through Payment Gateway (Credit
card/Debit card).
1. Entrance Test:
A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma
Holders Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree Holders, and in short
as TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016 will be conducted by JNT University Hyderabad on
behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2016-17 in
accordance with G.O.Ms.No:24 Education (EC) Department dated:18.03.2004, G.O.Ms.No:25,
dated:28.06.2006 and G.O.Ms.No:19, dated: 02.02.2008 for Diploma Holders and G.O.Ms.No.57 (EC2)
dated:12.05.2008 & G.O.Ms.No58(EC2) dated:12.05.2008 for B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree holders,
G.O.Ms 49 dated 04-06-2011 & G.O.Ms. 15(EC) dated 18.8.2014
(i) For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech. Courses in both University and Un- aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by All India Council
for Technical Education
(ii) For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B. Pharm. Course in both University and private un- Aided professional institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of
India.
Note: B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree holders are not eligible for admission into B.Pharm. Course.
The GOs issued earlier to conduct TSECET before bifurcation are adapted to conduct TSECET – 2016
by the government of Telangana State according to G.O. Ms. 33 dated 31.12.2014.
2. Eligibility Criteria to appear for TSECET-2016:
Candidates should satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for appearing at the TSECET [FDH
& B.Sc. (Mathematics)]-2016. (i) They should be of Indian Nationality.
(ii) They should belong to the State of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/nonlocal
status requirements as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order,
1974 as subsequently amended. The same is adapted to the state of Telangana G.O.Ms.33 dated 31.12.2014
(iii) They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering/Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of
Technical Education of Telangana State/Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma recognized by the Government
of Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh as equivalent there to for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm. Courses corresponding to the Diplomas as given in the Annexure-I (see in Instruction Booklet). (OR)
They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the
group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana/Andhra Pradesh state or its equivalent for
entry into relevant courses as given in the Annexure.
(iv) Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E./B.Tech./B.
Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma
course before admission into the college.
(v) Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc (Mathematics) Degree
as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for
entry into relevant courses.
3. Eligibility for admission into B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm.:
(1) For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech. Courses in both University and Un-Aided Private
Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority) approved by All India Council for Technical Education. (2) For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B. Pharmacy Course in both University and private un-Aided
professional institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
Candidates should have appeared and qualified at the TSECET-2016. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test
does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate
satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15%
of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Educational
Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
(3) Qualifying marks in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)]-2016. The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016 is 25% of
the aggregate marks in the four subjects [ Three subjects for B.Sc. (Mathematics)], i.e., 50 marks out of a
total of 200. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for
ranking the candidates. The rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at
the TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016 by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST category will be
cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid at the time of admission.
(4) Evaluation and ranking in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016:
(i) The student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on the marks obtained by him/her in the
TSECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)]-2016 Examination.
(ii) Every care will be taken to avoid errors in valuation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and ranking. Hence
request for re-totalling, revaluation or personal identification of scripts will in no case be
entertained. Candidates will be ranked in the order of merit in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]- 2016 separately in each branch of Engineering Course.
(iii) As per G.O. Ms. 58 dated 12-05-2008, for admission into B.Tech in Information Technology and
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering first preference will be given to respective Diploma
holders and for vacant seats all Diploma holders in any branch of Engineering/Technology, who
qualify in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016 are eligible for admission into B.Tech.
Information Technology and Computer Science and Engineering branches based on their Integrated
Merit Rank. The Integrated Merit Rank is based on the total marks obtained in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)]-2016 by candidates with Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology.
(iv) (a) Engineering:
In case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Engineering subject, and in case of further tie the
marks obtained in the Mathematics subject and if the tie still continues, the marks obtained in physics
subject will be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal
marks in each of the four subjects, they will be bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. Age of the
candidate will be considered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate being
given preference.
(b) Pharmacy:
Candidates will be ranked on the basis of merit in TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2016. In
case of tie the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination will be taken into
consideration. On further tie, age will be taken into consideration; the older candidate will be given
priority.
c) B.Sc.(Mathematics):
Candidates will be ranked based on the marks obtained in the entrance examinations. In case of a tie
in aggregate the marks obtained in Mathematics subject and in case of further tie the aggregate
marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be taken into account to resolve the tie

5. Submission of the Online Application form for TSECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]- 2016:

7. Criteria for Admissions :
The following order of preference shall be observed in considering Diploma Holders for admission into
various courses:
(1) For admission into Degree programme in Information Technology, first preference will be given to
candidates who have obtained the Diploma in Information Technology. Any seats still vacant shall be
filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology on
the basis of their integrated merit ranking.
(2) For admission into Degree programme in Textile Technology, candidates who have obtained their
Diploma in Textile Technology (Design & Manufacturing) and Textile Technology (Knitting) must
necessarily have completed their Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
(3) For admission into Degree programme in Bio-Technology, first preference will be given to candidates
who have obtained the Diploma in Bio-Technology. Any seats still vacant shall be filled with
candidates who have obtained their Diploma in Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering in the ratio of 1:1
respectively.
(4) Diploma Holders of Special Diploma course in Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering /
Diploma Holders in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering have to appear for TSECET – FDH
Examination in electronics & Instrumentation Engineering only (EIE) for admission into
Instrumentation Engineering (IE) / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) / Applied
Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation Control Engineering courses.
However, in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant
G.Os/Amendments/Notifications to be issued at the time of Admissions. 8. How to submit Application Form: TSECET – 2016 application should be submitted through
ONLINE mode only.
