Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2016 will be held on February 07, 2016 for admission to Integrated Ph.D. degree programmes at IISc Bangalore (IISc) and M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.- M.S.(Research)/Ph.D. dual degree and other post-Bachelor degree programmes at IITs (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Indore (IITI), Jodhpur (IITJ), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM),Patna (IITP), Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR)) for the academic session 2016-17.
Eligibility: At least 55% aggregate marks without rounding off for General/ OBC (NCL) Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks without rounding off for SC/ ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.
Test Papers and Mode of Examination: JAM 2016 will have seven test papers, namely, Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH), each of three hours duration. For all the papers, JAM 2016 examination will be conducted in online mode only. A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers subject to the restrictions of test schedule given below and by paying an additional fee for the second test paper.
